Waste Connections of Canada Hiring for Bilingual IT Field Support Technician at Montréal, QC Full Time

We are looking for a full-time BILINGUAL IT Field Support Technician at our Quebec Office. This position reports to the IT Field Tech Manager in Woodbridge, ON. We are looking for an outgoing, innovative, detail-oriented, and proactive individual capable of creating and driving change. The IT Field Support Technician will be required to travel to various locations throughout Canada. We are looking for individuals who can work independently, as well as part of a team. The IT Field Technician is the first point of contact for all IT related queries for our internal customers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Configure, install, and maintain PCs, Networks, printing devices, peripherals, security camera systems, and software
• Provide direct customer service and technical support to users on site
• Operate Audio/Visual equipment such as Video Teleconferencing devices, projectors, and any presentation hardware
• Install, configure and maintain network applications and application distribution systems
• Ensure all sites comply with the company’s IT Security Systems, by implementing and maintaining network standards and guidelines
• Provide technical support for Windows OS, Exchange, and Office
• Provide technical support for IOS, and Android mobile devices, including set-up and troubleshooting
• Keep up with current industry trends, including research and testing of new software, hardware, and other technology
• Create process documents and procedures for end-users
• Must be able to manage and complete small to large scale projects

Qualifications:

• Must be fully Bilingual – English and French
• 5-6 years of working in an IT support environment
• 3-4 years’ experience with Enterprise and Microsoft Network environment
• Excellent communications skills – including verbal, written, desk side and telephone etiquette
• Excellent time-management and organization skills
• Post-secondary education in computer technology
• Cisco knowledge is an asset
• Excellent understanding of IT best practices
• Ability to lift computer equipment as necessary and work at heights
• Valid Driver License

Please note – this a field support position. There is significant travel and overnight stays involved. You must own transportation – mileage will be provided per company policy. Travel across Canada is required for over 25% of the time.
