Position: Account Receivable Specialist

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Prepares, posts, verifies, and records customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable.

• Processes bank deposits.

• Creates invoices according to company practices; submits invoices to customers.

• Drafts correspondence for standard past-due accounts and collections, identifies delinquent accounts by reviewing files, and contacts delinquent account holders to request payment.

• Creates reports regarding the current status of customer accounts as requested.

• Reconciles accounts receivable on a consistent basis.

• Generates monthly billing statements based on the general ledger.

• Reconciliation of revenue accounts.

• Copies, files, and retrieves materials for accounts receivable as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

• High level of organization with excellent attention to detail, and accuracy of work performed.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

• Ability to learn and master accounting software.

• Ability to type at least 60 WPM.

• Excellent math skills with the ability to problem solve.

• Experience in the construction industry desired.

• Prior experience with Foundation software a bonus!

EXPERIENCE:

• 3-5 years experience in an Accounts Receivable role.

• High school diploma or equivalent. Post secondary education in Business or Accounting preferred.

• Knowledge of office administration and accounting procedures.

• Experience with Microsoft Office, accounting software and basic computer functions.

• Experience with lien procedures & waivers.

• Experience with public & federal projects (prevailing wage).

• Familiarity with multi-state debt collection laws.
