JOB PURPOSE

The primary role of the Student Support Coordinator is to plan and execute/oversee all multi-disciplinary team meetings for students with support plans. Additionally, the Coordinator is responsible for the maintenance of records associated with student plans and meetings, to ensure compliance with District and Federal standards, especially for students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and 504 Plans, with the support of the Student Support Teacher(s).

Job Responsibilities

• Schedule all IEP and 504 meetings with necessary stakeholders: Students (whenever possible) and Families, Student Support Teachers, General Education Teachers, Related Service Providers (RSPs), and any additional stakeholders as required by the student’s plan (including any necessary external parties)

• Oversee the timely drafting of 504/IEP documents (eligibility, initial, annual review, amendments) with support, as required, from Student Support Teacher/Case Manager

• Communicate with families in the lead up to multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings:

• Ensure all necessary documents are shared in advance of the meeting and

• Ensure families are clear on the details of the meeting through the receipt of a formal invitation from the Student Support Department

• Attend each meeting as the LEA Representative (unless acting as case manager)

• Oversee the maintenance of all IEP and 504 paperwork with support from Student Support Teacher/Case Manager

• Ensure all edits agreed upon by the MDT are captured in final drafts

• Ensure all MDT member signatures are collected on all relevant documents

• Ensure all finalized documents are accurate, up-to-date, and uploaded to the District’s Special Education Data System (SEDS) and hard copies filed in student’s physical file, in a timely manner (within three business days)

• Work with the Principal, Student Support Teacher and/or RSPs on administrative tasks related to OSSE compliance requirements

• Oversee the timely and accurate completion of quarterly IEP progress reports and their distribution to families

• Together with the Student Support Teacher/Case Manager, work with general educators and other appropriate staff to ensure students receive their documented accommodations on classroom and statewide assessments

• Ensure that all transition assessments have been conducted between the Student Support Teacher/Case Manager, and each IEP Student who is 14 years old or older

• Carry a small IEP/504 caseload, and carry out the aforementioned duties as required by individual case management

• Bachelor’s Degree Required (or in process); Master’s Degree Preferred

• 5+ years experience working in a diverse school environment

COVID-19 considerations:
All new members of Washington Latin’s faculty and staff are required to be vaccinated. Additionally, while we are mask optional outside of the building, all students, faculty, staff, and visitors are required to wear masks inside the buildings.
