Position Summary:

The Surgery Scheduler is responsible for scheduling surgical procedures within the guidelines provided such as communicating with related parties as needed, scheduling and performing data entry of surgical procedures, preoperative and postoperative office appointments, preoperative lab appointment, entering lab orders, obtaining prior authorizations, maintaining numerous calendars, and providing required office and hospital forms in a timely manner.

Education:
High school graduate work equivalent required. College degree in related field preferred. Ability to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology preferred.

Experience:
Previous experience in healthcare setting preferred. Previous surgical services background with knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment preferred. Computer, data entry, data ing experience preferred.

The ideal candidate will have the knowledge and experience to read interpret and extrapolate data for insurance authorizations.
