As the statewide data and workforce resource center for nursing, the Washington Center for Nursing (WCN) works to ensure a high-quality nursing workforce our communities need today and in the future. Health care provided by Licensed Practice Nurses, Registered Nurses, and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners impacts access and quality of care for Washington residents every day. The WCN conducts workforce research to address the nursing shortage, support quality nursing education, develop strategies to build a more diverse and inclusive workforce, and reach out to middle and high school students to promote nursing as a career. Intending to develop a nursing working force that mirrors the increasing diversity of our communities and advances equitable care, we study the supply and demand of the nursing profession to inform nursing workforce policy. To achieve this, WCN partners with a broad community, including national and state workforce researchers, schools, colleges and universities, health care facilities, communities, national organizations, policymakers, and other partners. WCN is a nonprofit corporation located in Tukwila, WA. For more information, please visit the WA Center for Nursing website at www.wcnursing.org
