Job Overview

Wargaming Sydney is seeking a Junior/Mid Software Engineer to join our studio. We are looking for someone with experience and passion, who is willing and able to dive into all aspects of game technology and development.

In this role you will help design, create and test a suite of microservices used to support the backend of multiple different games, including the new titles being developed in Sydney. The microservices are running on Kubernetes and are written in Python, C++ & Go.

What will you do?

• Build, test, maintain and document microservices using Python, C++ and Go

• Integrate the use of these services in Unreal Engine

• Work with senior developers to understand the needs of customers and design appropriate solutions

• Maintain and improve our CI/CD system

• Help the team and product grow by giving feedback and raising issues.

What are we looking for?

• Knowledge of Python

• Problem solving ability and knowledge of common algorithms and data structures

• Someone comfortable working with large code bases

• Good verbal and written communication skills

• The ability to thrive in an Agile Development environment

What additional skills will help you stand out?

• Knowledge of containers and orchestration system like Docker and Kubernetes

• Knowledge of C++ or Go

• Experience in game development or related technology (e.g. Unreal, Unity)

• Experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud)

• Bachelor of Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
