Position Overview

The Fulfillment Manager is responsible for ensuring all assigned units of medication are accurately and expeditiously dispensed and delivered to patients in accordance with individual state laws and

company directives. Additionally, the Fulfillment Manager should uphold the organizational values, initiatives, and competencies, while serving as a champion for change management, process improvement, and overall pharmacy Fulfillment efficiency. The Fulfillment Manager will oversee a team of up to 50 and is supervised by the Pharmacist in Charge.

Essential Functions

• In general, ensures the quality and safety of dispensed compounded products and supplies.
• Complies with all applicable federal and state pharmacy laws, including but not limited to: USP 800, USP 795, and Missouri Board of Pharmacy requirements.
• Performs duties in compliance with Skin Specialty Solutions, Inc. standard operating procedures and best practices.
• Strong sense of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality of protected patient health information.
• Safeguards pharmacy operations and contents by establishing and monitoring safety procedures and quality control protocols.
• Ensures medication is accurately labeled and packaged and shipped by fulfillment team members.
• Exhibits a sense of urgency and initiative while maintaining attention to detail while establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
• Adapts quickly to change and motivates the team to follow suit.
• Performs random process audits to ensure quality standards are achieved.
• Communicates with third party couriers to coordinate inbound/outbound shipments.
• Maintains professional competence for all duties performed.
• Performs all duties of a pharmacy technician, as needed.
• Completes special projects assigned by Pharmacist in Charge
• Performs other duties, responsibilities and activities, as needed.
• Communicates and partners with the compounding department regularly for inventory, scheduling, and workflow purposes.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Provides direct day-to-day supervision of technicians and other pharmacy employees.
• Directly oversees, guides, and delegates tasks for up to 50 people on the Fulfillment Team while promoting teamwork and maintaining a positive work environment.
• Directly supervises pharmacy technicians involved in fulfillment processes, including but not limited to safely operating equipment, as well as equipment and facility cleaning.
• Assigns and monitors fulfillment pharmacy technician tasks.
• Partners with their team to identify and map career opportunities by having regular conversations around performance and growth.
• Designates daily workload and tasks for pharmacy fulfillment technicians.
• Manages and approves time sheets of direct reports.
• Effectively schedule fulfillment technicians based on shipment volume projections.
• Partners with the Finance Team and PIC to ensure direct reports stay within the budget allotted for time worked.
• Partners in the recruiting process and effectively onboards new team members; while actively developing high performing team members.
• Provides leadership and fosters positive employee relations through effective communication.
• Ensures all fulfillment logs and reports are completed efficiently, accurately and on time.
• Conducts employee competency assessments.
• Ensures all non-pharmacy staff (including visitors and vendors) adhere to guidance, rules and regulations, as applicable.
• Assists Pharmacists in Charge in setting departmental expectations and goals.

Work Requirements

• The Fulfillment Manager must be able to work in an industrial environment, standing and walking around as much as 90% of the day.
• Must be able to safely and effectively wear a respirator for an entire day, as necessary.
• May need to lift as much as 40 lbs.
• Must be able to pass drug tests, prior to hire, as well as any subsequent random drug tests.
• Must be flexible to work weekends, as necessary.
• Typing and computer usage throughout the day.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks from multiple sources.
• Interacts politely and effectively with patients, practitioners and others.
• Must be able to travel, as necessary (
• Limited exposure to potentially hazardous substances.
• Must have good attendance and be consistently punctual.

Qualifications and Skills

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelors Degree/4+ years management experience
• Required Licensure: The Fulfillment Manager must have or be able to acquire a Missouri pharmacy technician license, and be in good standing with the Missouri Board of Pharmacy.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks from multiple sources.

Preferred Requirements:

• 6+ years of Management Experience
• Experience with pharmacy compliance and regulations
• Mail Order Pharmacy Management Experience
• Experience with pharmacy accreditation
