WA PCYC is looking for a dedicated and passionate professional to take up the exciting and challenging full-time role of Accounts Officer at WA PCYC Head Office!

WA PCYC is an incredible organisation that changes the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged children and young people at risk in Western Australia.
We currently operate in 16 locations, with 10 regional and six metropolitan centres and numerous, Blue Light Youth Activities and Police Ranger Units across the state. Our organisation is unique through its partnership with the WA Police, and mission simple – to help all children and young people achieve their potential.

Position Profile:

This position is responsible for timely and accurate end to end Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Debt collection functions, ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures. This position also provides support to and cover for the finance team and undertakes any additional duties as directed by the Finance Manager or the EM, F&BS.

The aim of the Accounts Officer role is to work within the finance team to deliver professional services, provide advice and support to the organisation in an effective and efficient manner to ensure that the needs of the business are being met.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Maintain customer accounts through accounts receivable processes to ensure accounts are managed effectively and processed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Ensure all invoices raised are coded correctly and with appropriate descriptions conforming to standard departmental procedures.
• Promptly identify and allocate payments received to invoices raised.
• Maintain vendor accounts through accounts payable processes to ensure accounts are managed effectively and processed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Process all invoices, credit cards, expense claims, petty cash expenditure, etc., with reasonable descriptions and correct codes conforming to standard procedures to ensure proper entry into the financial system within a timely manner.
• Ensure all accounts payable and accounts receivable are processed and reconciled to the cash book.
• Assist the Finance Manager in providing finance support to centre managers and staff assist in development and implementation of PCYC finance policies, procedures and guidelines.

Selection Criteria:

Essential

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in accounting
• Well-developed computer skills, including in the use of MS Office Suite and accounting software
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Strong organisation and planning skills, with ability to manage conflicting priorities
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Manage responsibilities effectively
• Demonstrated commitment and ability to provide a high standard of customer services, whilst maintaining confidentiality and discretion.

Desirable

• Formal qualifications in accounting or bookkeeping
• Experience using Sybiz Vision
• Previous experience in a non-profit organisation
