The Higher Education (HE) Development Manager is a highly-motivated, hands-on and innovative HE portfolio leader excited by our vision. The HE Development Manager is a full-cycle development manager, leading on VTCT’s strategic objective to develop its HE product and service offering, focusing on customer growth and profitable revenue.

Principal Responsibilities include (Full job description is available upon request) :

• Manage stakeholder consultation, validation and other engagements for VTCT’s HE portfolio.
• Planning and implementing the activities required to deliver on the strategy to promote revenue growth,
• Work closely with the CMO and the academic team to identify product marketing strategies, including product- market assessments, competitor analysis, and product and service USPs.
• Manage VTCT policy and funding representation on the HE agenda with external agencies.
• Use customer insight, experience and support to identify sales opportunities for VTCT’s higher education portfolio.
• Lead the development of a suite of higher-level beauty qualifications in accordance with the specified tactical plan.
• Proactively feedback to the product teams to ensure that the products we provide are in line with the customers’ needs, and are competitive.
• Manage the budget of circa £50k for HE qualification development.
• Issue contracts and work schedules to technical unit writers and project manage the development process by liaising with the Qualification Lead and subject matter experts.
• Manage the maintenance, extension and expiry of existing VTCT qualifications within the portfolio.
• Manage the maintenance of an accurate regulatory audit trail for all qualification, assessment and quality assurance development activities.
• Manage the provision of resources and training for the development of new HE qualifications.

• Post-graduate Level qualification (Level 7+)
• Management qualification or experience in management
• Experience devising course materials, curricula and assessments within HE or FE
• Lecturing experience in HE or FE setting
• Working within an educational policy context
• Experience of resource and risk management within HE or FE

Desirable Criteria:

• FE/HE funding or policy experience
• Formal training in proofreading
• Specialist expertise in educational assessment
