Systems Programmer

Who we are:

Vehicle Security Innovators, Inc, an employee-owned company is the parent company to four strategic business units focused on custom security and maintenance solutions for the transportation industry.

VSI, Inc. is looking to add a Systems Programmer to our growing team! This position is responsible for the design, programming, development, and data management for new and existing systems, documentation for IT procedures, and security of confidential and proprietary information.

Responsibilities:

• Design, programming, development, and data management for new and existing systems
• Troubleshoot and resolve programming issues and timely manner
• Work closely with information users to identify information needs and determine system capabilities
• Research, recommend and implement new programs, reports, and procedures as necessary to meet both internal and external customer information needs
• Work collaboratively with all departments, as well as with outside providers (Layered Systems, StrategyBytes, Evolve, etc.) as needed, to implement process improvements as it relates to information / systems
• Responsible for the efficient utilization and maintenance of the computerized information systems, to include but not limited to KPI Database(s), Production Database(s), Internal Network System.
• Train & educate users of software tools, capabilities and functions, either directly or by directing the work of our providers

Job Requirements:

• Must complete VSI’s Understanding of ISO/IATF Requirements
• 4 year degree or equivalent experience in an appropriate field preferred
• Proficient in various programming languages (C++, SQL, VBA, etc.)
• Working knowledge of Windows, Sage, and EDI
• Strong & professional social interaction skills
• Ability to think analytically and strategically
• Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve
• Ability to lead and drive change
• Continual improvement mindset
• Ability to handle multiple tasks & prioritize efficiently
• Results driven
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to lead teams & interact effectively with variety of people

• Knowledge of Manufacturing processes
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Skilled in Microsoft Office (Including but not limited to Access & Excel)
