To develop and lead the Human Resources function at all CPL sites.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Relationships

• Develop and direct all functional areas of HR at CPL, including leadership of the team, ongoing review and policy development and implementation, training and development programs/initiatives, performance management, employee relations, recruitment and selection, compensation and benefits and occupational health & safety.
• Ensure that the HR programs are being executed, in compliance with company and legislative requirements.
• Oversee HR Disability and Benefit design programs, working with payroll and benefits specialist in Finance to help administer these applicable programs.
• Oversee all company social events and plan and execute Corporate social events, in conjunction with the leadership team.
• Responsible for promoting and maintaining safe and healthy working conditions in his/her assigned work area; instructs, enforces and evaluates employees under their supervision to work in compliance with established safe work practices and procedures; ensures workers receive appropriate training and information necessary to conduct their activities in a safe and healthy manner.
• Participate as a member of the Executive Management Team.

Quality

• Ensure accuracy and consistency of Human Resources documents, application of policies and other information representing the Human Resources function at CPL.

Delivery

• Develop, communicate and execute the HR plan for CPL in alignment with Corporate goals and objectives.

Value

• Develop and maintain the HR budget for all sites.
• Industry benchmarking on salaries, benefits and HR best practices, including staying abreast of current employment related legislation.
• Establish department structure, systems, processes and measures to support the achievement of Lean goals and continuous improvement.
• Other duties and HR Projects/initiatives, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A Post-secondary education is required in Human Resources along with C.H.R.P. designation completed or in process.
• A minimum of ten (10) years of senior human resources leadership experience in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment is preferable.
• Engaging and people oriented and approachable style, with a focused, analytical and operations mindset. Must be a strategic thinker, able to serve as a key resource to the CEO and Executive Management team across all human resources aspects of the business.
• Effective leadership skills with a proven ability to motivate team members and facilitate individual work styles.
• Demonstrated competencies in CPL’s core values of Integrity, Trust, Respect and Fairness.
• Flexible with the ability to adapt, respond quickly and manage change in a fast-paced environment.
