About the role

As VP, Client Success, you will be a vital part of the growth of our agency. You will be responsible for the success of your assignments, including establishing strong relationships with our pharma and healthcare clients, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring deliverables meet both client standards and regulatory requirements. You have a proven track record managing large pharmaceutical or healthcare accounts in integrated advertising and are ready to drive results for our clients, our agency, and yourself.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing a portfolio of pharma and healthcare client relationships, including brands targeting HCP, payer, and patient audiences across therapeutic areas.
• Ensuring the agency delivers best-in-class work firmly grounded in a strategically sound understanding of the client’s scientific platform, commercial objectives, and long-term brand direction.
• Taking full responsibility for brand strategic direction, including its development, scientific accuracy, and eventual client and regulatory approval through MLR/MRC review processes.
• Advancing the professional development of your team by delegating effectively, monitoring deliverables, serving as a readily accessible resource, and conducting regular performance reviews.
• Proactively obtaining client feedback and identifying potential issues, whether compliance, scientific, or relationship-related, before they escalate.
• Staying on top of client business results, sales data, and market dynamics. If brand objectives aren’t being met, identifying root causes quickly and initiating appropriate action.
• Keeping senior management informed of issues affecting the overall health, compliance posture, and profitability of the account.
• Leading as a culture carrier by reinforcing Gene’s values, fostering an inclusive team environment, and modeling excellence in healthcare marketing.
• Driving business development and organic growth within existing healthcare accounts, identifying unmet needs and new engagement opportunities.

Requirements

• Pharma/healthcare experience required. 7+ years in healthcare agency account management, with a deep understanding of the regulated promotional landscape.
• HCP and scientific communications experience required. Demonstrated ability to develop and oversee HCP-targeted promotional and scientific communication materials, including journal ads, detail aids, congress materials, and speaker programs.
• MLR/MRC review process familiarity. Working knowledge of medical, legal, and regulatory review workflows and the ability to guide clients and internal teams through the approval process.
• Integrated team leadership. Experience managing and integrating with large, cross-functional teams (medical writers, creative, strategy, digital) in a fast-paced agency environment.
• Strong financial management. Proven experience managing large account budgets, forecasting, and ensuring profitability across a portfolio of business.
• Multi-tasking with minimal supervision. Ability to independently manage multiple accounts, competing priorities, and urgent client requests without compromising quality.
