Position Summary
Organize and assign all maintenance personnel to activities as required. This includes Maintenance Mechanics, and Line Mechanics.
Duties and Responsibilities
1.Communicate with Production, and Compounding to ensure that major preventive maintenance is completed on a timely basis.
2.Work with Engineering Manager and maintenance staff in the design and manufacture of the required parts.
3.Plan and direct the preventive and emergency maintenance of all support equipment. This includes all air compressors, driers, boilers, heaters, and air conditioning equipment.
4.Complete or direct major equipment overhauls or rebuilds as required.
5.Ensure that proper level of Maintenance supplies and spare parts are maintained. Order special parts when necessary.
6.Assist with the design and implementation of major changes to production line layouts or equipment movement, when required.
7. Ensure that proper levels of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health & Safety and housekeeping are maintained and that regulatory requirements are met at all times.
8.Develop and encourage a high level of employee involvement and continuous improvement. Constantly strive to eliminate non-value-added activities.
9.Conduct huddles and safety meetings for all maintenance staff, when required.
10.Provide performance feedback and coaching for all crewmembers. Complete the formal performance evaluations of all crewmembers as required.
11.Administer progressive discipline to crewmembers for infractions of company policies.
12.Ensure that all new crew members receive proper orientation and job training in a timely manner.
13.Other related duties as required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
1.Must have strong communication and inter-personal skills.
2.Effective decision-making and problem solving capabilities are a necessary element.
3.Must be able to react quickly to situations that arise in the Plant.
4.Must be able to visually concentrate for extended periods of time.
5.Must be able to stand, crouch, and reach for extended periods of time.
6.Must be able to assist in moving heavy objects. (i.e. machinery)
7.Must work in accordance with all Health and Safety and GMP regulations.
8.Must be able to read, write and speak English.
