Accountant Job Summary

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Accountant will be responsible for the day-to-day general accounting function of Vitalhub’s UK subsidiaries while assisting with month-end duties. The role would be ideal for those pursuing an accounting qualification or wishing to learn and grow within a creative company.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake weekly credit control and escalate if required

Enter purchase invoices into Netsuite and prepare the weekly payment run

Prepare monthly accounts receivable sales orders and invoices to include yearly renewals on support and maintenance and follow up on customer queries

Undertake monthly bank and credit card reconciliations in accordance with month-end deadlines

Prepare and submit the quarterly VAT return for the UK entities and other HMRC reporting requirements e.g. PAYE

Cash management

Review expense claims and approve for payment

Prepare and post monthly journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts and monthly working papers e.g. accruals, prepaids, deferred revenue for multiple UK companies

Prepare monthly deferred revenue forecast

Special projects and other general accounting duties as required

Skills and Qualifications

Experience of AP and AR

BA or degree level e.g. HNC/HND in Finance and Accounting or AAT qualified/actively pursuing

Minimum of 2 years working in Finance/Accounting

Attention to detail and well organised

Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills – verbal and written

Ability to work calmly under pressure in a consistent manner to meet tight deadlines

Experience of month-end

Intermediate Excel skills

Adaptable with the ability to learn quickly

Able to work independently and as part of a team

Experience with deferred revenue preferred but not essential

Familiar with purchase orders

Experience with accounting software, Netsuite is preferred

Flexible and adaptable to a fast-paced demanding environment, with the ability to work under pressure and consistently meet tight deadlines with accurate data

Demonstrated initiative and resourcefulness with a strong sense of urgency – get it done attitude!
