An exciting opportunity for an ambitious and technically qualified Design Manager to join our team in Glasgow working on a portfolio of rail infrastructure / civil engineering projects.

Our Client is seeking a Design Manager that will be responsible for coordinating and managing designers to deliver schemes and remits within the clients portfolio of civil engineering and rail infrastructure projects.

As design manager, you will be responsible for the following:

• Managing the design delivery process for both the in-house design team and external designers on multidisciplinary projects or frameworks.
• Management of Rail and Civil Engineering (non-rail) projects through full design and build lifecycle.
• Support the CEM in delivery of the works, disputing as necessary.
• Identify and raise technical queries for information for design and BIM related items.
• Manage the design tracker to keep the client and project team updated.
• Agree the design programme and monitoring the progress of design.
• Monitor the progress of design delivery against agreed programme.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate success in a similar role, having had previous experience as a design manager in a rail and civil engineering environment. A degree, HND or HNC in civil engineering (or equivalent compensating experience in a technical engineering role) is also desirable.
