The opportunity:

Visy are Australia’s leading manufacturer of steel cans. We are beverage can experts with a thirst for creating new packaging solutions for our customers. Many of Australia and New Zealand’s most recognised beverage brands are delivered in cans we make.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, Clayton, you will be responsible for ensuring the timely delivery of financial and management reporting for our Clayton and Coburg sites. As the finance and accounting subject matter expert, you will work closely with the plant manager and plant team to support them with anything from reconciliations to budgeting and forecasting, as well as supporting continuous improvement projects across the business.

You will be hands-on, proactive and a strong business partner to the plant team and the wider business delivering accurate, timely reporting and cost efficiencies.

The key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Finance and accounting subject matter expert for two sites
• Full spectrum of profit & loss activities
• The preparation, maintenance, and oversight of weekly, and monthly management reporting
• Balance sheet reconciliation compliance
• Audit reviews
• Monitor and maintain the asset register and depreciation schedules
• Drive and implement process for cycle counting and periodical stock takes
• Account receivable and payable support when required
• You will drive continuous improvement, train, and partner with internal stakeholders in all facets of operational excellence
• Adhere to all safe Work Health & Environment policies and procedures
• Ad hoc project work or coverage where required

What you will bring to the team:

• Tertiary Qualified in Accountancy/ Commerce
• Preferable CA or CPA qualified
• Solid experience in manufacturing & financial environment
• High competency in MS Excel
• Clear and concise communication and the ability to form successful and strong work relationships
• A thorough understanding of accounting principles
