Visionix Hiring for Regional Sales Director – Western USA at Lombard, IL Full Time

Scope:

This position oversees the continuous building and managing of the organization’s sales team in a defined region of the United States. The Regional Sales Director (RSD) will manage a diverse team of territory sales managers, some full-time employees (FTE) and others on 1099 status (independents). Additionally, a successful RSD will stay abreast of eye care industry trends and impact on the sales environment while evaluating the effectiveness of strategic and tactical programs on an ongoing basis. The RSD seeks to deliver consistent overachievement of territory revenue while achieving Average Sales Price (ASP) targets versus stated budget values.

Responsibilities:

• In short, the RSD has P&L responsibility for their Region. Ensure profitable sales by actively managing the sales team to consistently achieve and exceed sales targets while carefully monitoring key pricing and expense areas.
• Develop and coordinate sales selling cycle and methodology, with specific focus on utilization of digital tools such as Salesforce (CRM), Showpad (Sales enablement) and Brainshark (LMS).
• Work with marketing colleagues to direct and coordinate regional sales functions, in a predictable manner and within published budgetary guidelines.
• Work with Sales leadership and utilize the CRM package to develop accurate sales forecasting. Contribute regular and timely forecast values to the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) Committee to ensure adequate inventory holding.
• Act as mentor to the Territory Sales team through extensive “in territory” travel, ride-alongs, scheduled individual and team meetings and clear / productive communication around performance expectations.
• Attend national/regional industry meetings, state eye care association meetings and medical education programs which may occur during evening hours and/or weekends.
• Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales methods, costs and results.
• Work closely with the Senior Management Team providing sales channel profitability information.
• Maintain understanding of competitor products & performance.
• Develop and manage territory sales budgets.
• Adhere to and support the company Quality system and policies.
• Other duties as required and assigned by the President and the V.P. of US Sales.
• Perform other duties or tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

• Education: BA/BS degree in life sciences preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales management or 10 years’ experience in sales.
• Experience in strategic planning and execution. Specific experience working with Salesforce.com CRM system is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of structuring sales teams, compensation plans and revenue expectations.
• Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
• Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects.
• Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
• Candidates must have a current valid driver’s license, collision and liability insurance for their vehicle and maintain a clean driving record.
• This position requires at least 50% travel with some overnight stays but may be based out of a home office.
