Role Profile

The Global Executive Talent Acquisition team is a small, high-functioning team that advises Visa’s business leaders on senior leadership appointments. The global team operates across five regions; North America, Latin America & the Caribbean (LAC), Asia-Pacific (AP), Europe and Central Eastern Europe, the Middle East & Africa (CEMEA). The team comprises experienced Talent Acquisition professionals from both Corporate and Executive Search industries, as well as strategic sourcers and researchers, and candidate-care specialist co-ordinators.

The team directly sources candidates in markets spanning; the UK, Spain, Turkey, France, Sweden, Germany, Poland, Dubai, Russia, sub-Saharan Africa, Singapore, China, Malaysia, India as well as throughout North America and Latin American markets such as Brazil and Mexico.

The Executive Talent Acquisition Partner (ETAP) will form part of the Global Executive Talent Acquisition team covering markets outside of the US, principally in Europe & CEMEA. The role will support senior leadership hiring throughout the two regions and partner closely with the research team and other ETAPs. This role will engage in strategic client work with regional and functional HRBPs, as well as the wider Talent team and business leaders in the respective regions.

This role will lead on executive hires both internal and external through direct sourcing with the research team. The ETAP will take a proactive approach to talent incubation for leadership. They will offer subject matter experience throughout the life cycle of the search from briefing to shortlist to interview stage and candidate offer and acceptance, providing a seamless hiring experience and excellent candidate care.

Responsibilities

• Lead on Executive open roles in partnership with team members through direct sourcing
• Support the wider team on leadership appointments spanning the full life cycle of the hiring process
• Advise hiring managers, HRBPs and other executives about insightful market intelligence, interesting moves and appointments in and outside the fintech / payments industry
• Attract and engage diverse executive talent and talent from analogous industries that would complement and help drive Visa’s ambitious goals
• Prepare Executive hiring materials and documentation that is impactful and helps to inform decision making to a leadership audience with a clear focus on simplicity
• Negotiate and broker offers for executive candidates to recruit them and make Visa the employer of choice. Prepare offer paperwork and executive materials for buyout offers and context on the hire
• Partner closely with mobility and onboarding teams on candidate relocation requirements, ensuring HRBPs are kept abreast at all stages
• Ownership of specific initiatives / projects as delegated by the Global Executive Talent Acquisition Co-Heads to deliver as ‘One Visa’
• Ensure all executive hires meet companywide governance and compliance deadlines and proactively ensure materials are prepared ahead of time for team / client updates and review
• Lead briefing kick off meetings and bring insightful market research to search calibration of candidates that will add value to the Executive Talent Acquisition strategic agenda. Proactively identify key industry issues that will affect hiring managers and senior leadership teams in the regions
• Help develop Visa’s position in regional markets and globally as a leading technology payments organisation that is the “go-to” destination for exceptional talent. Stay abreast of all major industry and regulatory initiatives and alert the Global Executive Talent Acquisition team to talent and market trends
• Ensure that candidates from all acquisition channels (referrals, direct sourcing, internal talent etc…) are developed and followed through, tracking information on the company’s Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Smart Recruiters
• Bring new ways of working to the team as we work in a ‘hybrid-environment’. Think creatively about information sharing, collaboration opportunities and how to support one another across different time zones and cultural differences. Be a leader in your field of interest and help the team design new engagement models that will further enhance the team’s internal and external brand

Experience

• Ideally 10+ years of Executive Search experience, either as a consultant, engagement manager, associate or executive recruiter in a Corporate Talent Acquisition function.
• Execution focused with hands on experience throughout the life cycle of a search. Interest in, and capability to, take on responsibility outside of immediate operating environment.
• Excellent client relationship and stakeholder management experience. Outstanding project / program management skills and experience gained from a fast paced talent environment. Ability to adjust to multiple tasks / demands and constantly shifting priorities under tight deadlines and time constraints.
• Demonstrable skills in organisation and prioritising tasks; experience in motivating and managing to deliver positive outcomes through critical path actions for each project to ensure an excellent candidate and hiring manager experience.
• Creative approach to identifying and engaging top talent; using traditional Executive TA tools and technologies, adept at preparing management information and marketing intelligence reports. Knowledge of sourcing and research channels, referral relationship building activities and generating new candidate networks.
• Robust evaluation, judgement and analytical skills. Strong command of current affairs, market and leadership data with the ability to grasp complex and detailed issues.
• Excellent negociation and influencing skills, combining a data-led approach with financial metrics and rigour in constructing and brokering offers. Impeccable eye for detail with the ability to understand another view point.
• International experience would be advantageous. Operating in, and knowledge of, a global environment would be desirable. Languages would be a plus.
• A passion for fintech and innovative new technologies with a desire to become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on this and other payment topics as it relates to Executive Talent Acquisition.
• Tremendous oral and written communication skills, able to craft compelling communications, prepare executive presentations, develop quick credibility during interviews and take up reference reports. Ability to convey insights to influence executive hiring with intentional success metrics.
• Experience of operating in a fast-paced, fluid commercial environment, either within an Executive Search firm or supporting executive hires in multi-national Corporate organisations. Other industry experience including digital / mobile, technology, telecoms, retail, and / or consumer-facing sector experience would be highly attractive.
• Ability to build deep relationships at senior levels within and outside the organisation, navigate complex structures and develop trusted relationships with executive talent and hiring managers.
• Good ability to communicate empathetically and constructively at all levels and role model the Visa values. A people person, first. Proven success managing complex projects and in particular, the ability to work collaboratively and compassionately with the wider team at all levels within Visa.
