Virginia Greensville Correctional Ctr Hiring for Adult Education Teacher – at Virginia Full Time

Position provides individual and group instruction to male inmates at Greensville Correctional Center. Successful candidate will maintain classroom, equipment and inventories; ensure compliance with all DOC regulations; maintain accurate records and submit timely reports; and manage and supervise aides and students in classroom.

Minimum Qualifications

Must possess working knowledge of all facets of the basic adult education field, ABE/GED, adult literacy and computer software appropriate for program needs. Knowledge and experience of policy and procedures governing adult education.

Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university in Adult Education or Special Education, preferably in the subject area to be taught, or a major or minor in high school math.

Knowledge and experience of policy and procedure governing adult education.

Preferred Qualifications

Prefer Current Teaching License with an endorsement in Adult Education, Special Education or core academic subject (English, Math, History/Social Studies, Science). Prefer experience teaching adults in an alternative or correctional education environment. Prefer a Master’s degree in Adult Education, Special Education or a core academic subject.
