Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate for this position will have comprehensive knowledge of the juvenile justice system; case management guidelines, and juvenile justice program development. Considerable knowledge and experience directly supervising youth, extensive history working with service providers, alternative placements and detention center staff. Ability to develop and plan policies, standards, regulations, legislation, goals and strategies; to interpret data, policies and procedures and make recommendations related to management, operational issues and resource deployment. Demonstrated ability to independently gather and interpret data, draw conclusions and implement solutions; clearly present information in written and verbal formats; manage multiple tasks and projects; work independently. Ability to utilize Microsoft and other computer software including spreadsheets, word processing, databases, and presentation packages. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff from various levels of agency operations. Extensive and progressively responsible supervisory, administrative, and managerial experience in the juvenile justice field is required. Considerable experience in community-based or residential programs for juveniles is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with major course work in Public Administration, Criminal Justice, or a related field is preferred.
