ing to the Data Manager, this is a professional level position within the Division of Family Services, responsible for supporting the Data Team through analysis, visualization, and presentation of data. This position will work closely with the Protection, Prevention, and Permanency Data Analysts to understand the needs of each program area and respond to business needs accordingly. This position requires a strong understanding of data quality, documentation, and the ability to explain complex data sets to non-technical audiences. This position will work with the Data Team to provide insights into Child Protective Services, in-home and prevention services, as well as permanency (including foster care and adoption) through various analytic methods including pivot tables, SPSS, SQL, and dashboard creation.

Responsibilities:

• Writes and documents SQL queries to extract data from data warehouse.
• Compiles and synthesizes information that may be used to define programmatic goals, identifies emerging issues and/or suggests new partnerships.
• Structure large data sets to find usable information.
• Develops project/outcome and data visualization tools including both live dashboards and static s.
• Champions a culture of learning by participating in internal and external feedback loops that allow for evaluation findings, as well as community insights to be brought back to the agency and shared across departments.
• Conducts ad-hoc analysis of existing internal and external secondary datasets that support programmatic, systems change and policy efforts.
• Works with the Data Team to identify data quality issues and create tools to address and maintain data quality.
• Conducts on-going analysis of data regarding children and families, operating practices, and data flows within and between various systems and applications.
• Uses continuous quality improvement (CQI) mindset to look for opportunities to correct, streamline and enhance processes and procedures in functional areas of responsibilities, map process flows, recommend and implement change.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Coursework experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or mathematical fields such as Statistics, Operations Research, Actuarial Science, or Applied Mathematics, or equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the capability to perform the job.
• Experience using principles of research, statistical analysis, and preparation using research resources and modern software applications including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with data analytics: Designing and maintaining s, dashboards, and scorecards.
• Experience assessing and documenting management ing needs.
• Experience using data warehouse objects and query tools (SQL, R, SPSS etc.).
• Advanced skill using Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to recommend and implement process improvements independently and as a team member with other Family Services staff to improve program efficiency and effectiveness.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with internal and external customers.
• Ability to analyze data and reach conclusions, which are logical and within state/federal requirements.
• Ability to conduct problem analysis, think critically, and recommend solutions to others.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with CCWIS systems, child welfare and/or large administrative data sets.
