Mission Summary

To support the VEUK & ROI Chief Financial Officer with financial analysis and report creation, Mergers and Acquisition activity and market intelligence gathering.

Internship Objectives

• To own and build out valuation models for prospective acquisition targets, using financial statements and management accounts to suggest areas to review and discuss with CFO.
• To understand existing intelligence tools and review alternatives to ensure that the Company has easy access to high quality data.
• To use this to create repeatable valuable updates or insights to share with the Directors of the business.
• To assist the CFO in writing monthly and quarterly commentary on the state of the UK economy.

Learning Points

• Understanding of the valuation methods used by companies as they assess and consider acquisition targets, alongside the risks considered and the financial due diligence that is performed.
• Understanding the power that data has in the decision-making process, be it small or strategic decisions.
• Understanding of the UK business landscape with specific reference to the industrial and infrastructure sectors.

Person Specification

• A hardworking and determined individual who is interested in accounting or corporate finance or economics.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance or similar is preferable as being able to understand and decipher financial information will be beneficial.
• An analytical mind, capable of dealing with numerical data.
• Proficient IT skills and the ability to learn and use new systems quickly.
• Good report writing skills and knowledge of excel and power point.
• Great interpersonal skills.
• Above all an eagerness to learn.
• Must have the right to work in the UK
