We are searching for a Quality Control Inspector, which means a person who will be expected to participate in the implementation of a safe, quality minded and productive execution of various work scopes in a fast-paced operating plant turnaround and shop environment.

General Description:

Work independently and prioritize according to multiple deadlines and time-sensitive requirements

Develop complete understanding of contract plans, specifications, applicable codes, and jurisdictional requirements

Develop a thorough knowledge of the project scope, schedule, inspection, testing, and quality documentation, organize and maintain inspection and testing documentation

Provide Guidance to construction supervision regarding the project specific quality process and to ensure the requirements of the ITP are met.

Report and document Non-Conformance when they occur. Assist in ensuring rework is tracked. Propose corrective and preventive actions.

Have a thorough knowledge of the Projects Quality Management System and Work Instructions

Be involved in and provide inspection and testing input to with project team.

Coordinate with third party testing agencies and ensure that status logs are maintained.

Review and approve all third party test results for compliance with project requirements

Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective actions to eliminate or minimize hazards.

Understand and respond appropriately to all safety hazards and warning devices (i.e. different colored warning tags, warning).

Research and answer questions of a technical nature in the interpretation of construction codes and standards.

Coordinate system turnover activities with project teams and assist in assembling turnover

Perform all other job-related duties as requested by shop quality manager Quality Supervisor

Assist in the daily meetings to explain inprogress and upcoming quality controls

Education and Experience:
Required:
Degree in an appropriate field

Experience in the construction industry, preferably on large infrastructure projects

Knowledge of Ontario standards

Strongly Encouraged:
Previous experience in Canada or North America and in LRT projects in particular

Key Skills and Knowledge:
Required:
Highly developed communication and leadership skills, both written and verbal

Ability to manage performance and staff planning

Fluent in English with professional proficiency
