Based in South Yarra’s iconic Jam Factory, Village Roadshow Ltd is a leading media and entertainment company operating its core businesses in Cinema, Film, TV, Digital Distribution and Theme Parks.

The Role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, your primary responsibility is to assist and support our finance team and other departments with accurate financial information and ensure accounting tasks are completed on a timely basis.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Month End reporting – assist with month end journals including accruals, prepayments and any other relevant journals for the preparation of financial reports for the Exhibition division
• Participation in completion of month end financial report submissions for the division
• Preparation of month end reports as required
• Prepare and assist with Reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts. Compiling all supporting evidence to portray the company’s accurate financial position
• Contribute to year end and half year end reporting
• Contribute in the preparation of year end and half year end group reporting packs to the company’s standards and timeframe
• Assistance with the provision of information to the auditors
• Assistance with the preparation of the annual budgeting process
• Ensure continuous improvement of finance processes providing consistency, accuracy and efficiency whilst maintaining adequate financial controls.

About you

We’re looking for someone who has an excellent eye for detail to ensure minimal errors occur while maintaining a high standard of quality by checking and monitoring all processes and tasks carried out.

Further to this, we are seeking someone who possess:

• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent computer skills (including Excel, experience in SAP preferred)
• An ability to work autonomously and as part of a team effectively
• Willingness to learn, display initiative and take on new responsibilities.
• Completion of tertiary qualifications in accounting or financial related discipline
