View Labs Hiring for Website and Web Platform Quality Assurance Tester : React experience a plus Job at Remote Full Time

DAY TO DAY WORK WILL BE 100% REMOTE

Overview: View Labs (previously VirtualAPT) is looking for a bright and capable Website and Web Platform Quality Assurance Tester who is an extremely organized, detail-obsessed individual. You will work closely with the web development and design/marketing team to ensure high standards for the company’s web platform UI and UX are consistently met.

Candidates are required to demonstrate a strong intuition for what makes an amazing, professional user experience and clean web design. They will be structured in their approach to QA testing webpages on multiple screen sizes and devices, going through all possible UI/UX flows, and use a web browser development console.

Exception candidates will have experience in front-end web development using React, know how to use GitHub to track down problematic component locations in code in order to submit issues to the web development team.

Schedule: On-call M-F 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM EST with maximum 24 hour turn-around time on your QA reports from the time of assignment. Work may vary from week to week depending on development cycles but will typically range between 5-20 hours per week.

Compensation: Hourly between $15-30/hour depending on past experience.

Description of Day-to-Day Work:

As needed, you will be asked to visit certain URLs directing to web content produced by the company. You will be asked to create written reports about UI/UX functionality when compared to original design mockups and identify any issues with the site from both an aesthetic and functional perspective. Your reports are expected to be comprehensive, well-formatted, include both written and graphic screenshots with annotations, and rarely – if ever – miss any issues.

Exceptional candidates will also be comfortable using web browser development consoles to dig into the root cause of issues and submit GitHub Issues for the web development to address.

Expected Qualifications, Education, Knowledge, and Skills:

• Basic experience with web development tools available in Safari and Google Chrome for element inspection, screen size adjustment, and request log viewing

• Ownership of both a mobile and desktop device to complete basic testing
• A high level of professionalism is required

• Strong organizational and presentation skills

• Excellent attention to detail, a reliable, hard-working, strong sense of teamwork, ability to multitask, highly independent

• Experience working with G-Suite tools such as Google Docs, Google Slides, and Google Sheets to create professional material from scratch to convey test results and ideas

• Exceptional written and verbal communication

• Punctual, eager to learn and grow, amicable and collaborative

Preferred Experience:

• 2-3 years or more of experience with modern ES6+ JavaScript and HTML5/CSS3
• 1-2 years of experience with React
• Experience as a professional web developer or QA tester
• Advanced knowledge of tools available in Safari and Google Chrome web browser development consoles such as network requests logs, console logs, network configuration simulation, and resource analyzer
• Exceptional candidates will demonstrate a strong understanding of computer science fundamentals and have experience with various programming languages
• Ownership of several devices for device and browser compatibility testing
