The controller will be responsible for budget management, financial analysis, payroll, forecasting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting. The human resource department will be managed by the controller, including policy and procedure compliance and ongoing maintenance of HR practices.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES-

The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices.

• Participate in the development of and support the company’s strategic plans.
• Monitor the financial performance of the company.
• Compile and analyze financial reporting.
• Prepare monthly and annual operating budgets.
• Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures.
• Communicate financial metrics to division managers.
• Provide leadership and support to division managers.
• Manage the preparation of payroll for personnel.
• Keep up-to-date on current HR trends.
• Report monthly / quarterly payroll reports to federal and state.
• Approve purchase orders for division managers of orders over 1000.00.
• Invoice maintenance customers monthly for services performed.
• Invoice enhancement and design build projects upon completion of project.
• Review and approve job reports and time sheets for design build until construction manager is hired.
• Participate in bi-annual employee reviews.
• Track and keep incident reports for company on employee or equipment incidents or policy infractions.
• Maintain master inventory list provided by division managers.

QUALIFICATIONS-

Knowledge of:

Principles of supervision and training.

Principles and practices of safety management.

Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases and LMN software.

Pertinent local, state and federal laws, ordinances and rules.

Knowledge of landscape industry and plant material.

Ability to:

Organize, implement and direct office operations.

Interpret and explain pertinent company policies and procedures

Supervise, train and evaluate assigned staff.

Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
