We are seeking a:

Field Service Engineer

Responsibilities:

The Field Service Engineer must have a comprehensive understanding of the duties required to complete the installation and service of Vidir equipment and be able to direct individual laborers that are helping or ing to them. They must be able to work both independently and, as a team. The Field Service Engineer must be mechanically inclined and able to problem solve in circumstances that are unexpected and require resolution.

• The Field Service Engineer is required to be exceptionally customer oriented and communicate in a professional manner because they are the last individuals seen by our customers.

• The Field Service Engineer must always practice all safety practices as outlined in the Vidir safety policy manual. They must hold current forklift and scissor lift certificates and any other certificates required to complete installation of equipment.

• The Field Service Engineer will be required to verify accuracy and quality in accordance with established practices.

• The individual should be familiar with concepts and standards or mechanical practices and procedures for equipment assembly and operation.

• The Field Service Engineer organizes and performs the installation, assembly, and service of Vidir equipment while maintaining professional image.

• The individual must have good organizational and communication skills and manage deadlines. An Field Service Engineer operates both independently and in a team. They organize and direct the supporting labor.

• Prepares all post installation documents – checklists, quality deviation forms, pictures and provides them via email to appropriate departments to be processed and recorded in compliance with departmental directives.

• Demonstrate the accountabilities under Vidir’s Safety Management System and Continuous Improvement Programs and lead by example.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate MUST:

• Have a High School Diploma or GED at a minimum. Post secondary Engineering or Electrical Technologist training will be preferred.

• 1-3 years’ experience in manufacturing or other mechanical industry is required.

• Must have Electrical Technology skills

• Maintains professional but friendly and outgoing demeanor.

• Demonstrates strong problem-solving and organizational skills.

• Exhibits ability to think creatively and analytically.

• Demonstrates strong leadership skills.

• Must be physically fit and agile, ability to lift maximum weight allowed by labor laws, capable of operating forklifts, scissor lifts, and cranes.

Must have Forklift, Crane Training, Scissor Lift, and Fall Protection certifications.

• Must live within one hour of a major international airport

• Must hold a valid driver’s licence and passport and have the ability to travel throughout Canada and the U.S.

• Must be willing to travel on a regular basis

In Addition, the following skills are preferred:

• Educational background in Mechanical or Electrical Discipline

• 3 – 5 years’ experience in manufacturing or other mechanical industry

Working Conditions:

• Industrial and retail settings. Individual could be subjected to noise requiring proper Personal Protective Equipment.

• Required to travel up to 5 days a week, all year (except for vacation).
