Job location

Forensicare is the statutory agency responsible for the provision of adult forensic mental health services across Victoria. We address the needs of people experiencing mental health issues, the mental health sector, the justice sector and the general community. These services are delivered through inpatient services at Thomas Embling Hospital, community services through the Community Forensic Mental Health Service and prison-based services at several locations. This position will be based at Thomas Embling Hospital in Fairfield, just 15 minutes north of the Melbourne city centre but maybe required to work across all Forensicare sites on occassion.

About the Role:

• Supports the management and financial accounting functions as well as providing ad hoc assistance to the leadership team.
• Provides support and assistance to the transactional accounting team,
• Assists in month end and reconciliation process, budgeting, accounting and taxation reporting.

Duties:

• Full end to end function of Accounts Payable
• Financial Accounting:
  • Assist in the completion of Month End close process
  • Assist in the preparation of annual statutory accounts and other external reporting such ABS surveys, work cover and indirect taxation
  • Assist in the completion of Monthly Reconciliations of Balance Sheet Accounts, including bank reconciliations
  • Provide support and back up for Accounts Payable, Accounts Reciveable and Trust Office
• Management Accounting:
  • Assist in the preparation of the Operating and Capital expense Budgets
  • Assist in adhoc financial information requests as directed
• Business Systems Team:
  • Assist in the system administration of all finance systems

About You:

• Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting.
• Proficiency and extensive experience in using Microsoft Excel & Word. Experience with Magiq and Microsoft D365 will be highly regarded.
• Demonstrated skills and capacity to work effectively autonomously and as a member of a team to deliver outcomes and solve problems.
• Ability to be proactive and accountable and take responsibility for the role.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with accuracy and attention to detail and the ability to deliver results under tight time frames.
• Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships internally and externally.
• An ability to be self-sufficient and to self-manage.

COVID19 & Influenza Vaccination Evidence

Under the Victorian Public Health orders, all employees working within the Public Health system must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and Influenza and are required to provide acceptable evidence of their vaccination status. The current orders require evidence of three doses for COVID-19.

Acceptable evidence is a copy of your Immunisation History Statement which can be accessed via MyGov.
