DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Assist staff in the preparation, promotion, administration and delivery of a range of sport and health programs.
2. Provide customers of all ages and backgrounds with relevant and timely information and updates on programs.
3. Set up and maintain the necessary equipment and venues for programs.
4. Assist staff in the preparation of reports for sports programs.
5. Complete all rostered shifts in the Centres, adhering to University and legislative protocols.
6. Attend and participate in relevant meetings and training programs to ensure appropriate professional development.
7. Adhere to and cooperate with all OHS policies and procedures of AFL Sport Ready and Victoria University.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
2. Reliable, punctual, and well presented.
3. Ability to work under supervision and take direction, as well as being able to work as part of a team.
4. Sound understanding of and experience with relevant computer packages and web communications such as word, excel, email and social
media (Internet, Facebook, Twitter etc).
5. Personal interest in, and desire to develop, a career in the sport and fitness, recreation, or event management industries.
6. Current Provide First Aid Qualification or willingness and ability to obtain this certificate prior to commencement.
7. Current Pool Lifeguard Award or willingness and ability to obtain this certificate prior to commencement. The applicant must be able to
swim 200m and be able to tow a person 25m to obtain this certificate.
8. A current, or willingness and ability to obtain a Working with Children Check.

SALARY

As the successful candidate, you will receive:

$21,500 – $30,000 plus 10.5% Superannuation

• Fully Funded Qualification

MORE INFORMATION

• People with tertiary qualifications need not apply. Current university applicants may have to defer their studies to be eligible for this traineeship.
• This position is best suited to a recent secondary school leaver.
