About the role

The Graduate Researcher Support Officer, Candidature provides high quality administrative support and advice to VUs graduate researchers and their supervisors to ensure an efficient delivery services with specific focus on the processes, guidelines and policy and procedures relating to candidature management. Working closely with the Candidature Coordinator, you will be primarily responsible for several key administrative functions including enquiry response, enrolments, candidature milestone presentation, examinations and graduations

About the person

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a busy office environment, works collaboratively with others, is able to adapt to a changing work environment and has exceptional organisational skills including problem solving capacity and the ability to prioritise effectively.

Ideally you will further have:

• Well-developed oral and written communication skills and an ability to work effectively with people at all levels of the organisation
• Ability to interpret policy and procedures and convey these to a diverse range of internal/external stakeholders in a University environment in order to the meet the position objectives
• Knowledge and experience of issues associated with research in a University environment preferably those specific to Higher Degree by Research students
• Proficiency with computers and various software packages, including Microsoft Access, Excel and Word, electronic mail, internet and student management systems: Student One and Research Master

Duties

• Provide high quality administrative support and advice to ensure the efficient running of the day to day activities within the Office for Researcher Training, Quality & Integrity: Candidature Team
• Attention to detail to ensure documentation for internal and external stakeholders is accurate and complete using a range of software and interfaces.
• The ability to maintain confidentiality and recognise sensitive issues.
