About the role:
The Finance Officer (VPSG 3) currently falls within the Business Support Team that looks after functions such as Corporate Card, Travel, Petty cash, Cab charge and Reconciliation of Consolidated Accounts for VPC clients

Your duties will include:

• Participate in and assist with various financial management activities in accordance with accounting standards and internal policies.
• Corporate Card Administration / Verification for Victoria Police
• Client Liaison for key portfolios
• Reconciliations of consolidating invoices
• Corporate Card Transactions and Reporting
• Expenditure Transfers
• Maintain with the team the PBEA outlook box
• Assist with travel bookings if needed
• Corporate Travel Invoices

As the successful applicant, you will have:

• Provide sound policy, financial and accounting advice to all stakeholders, ensuring consideration of relevant government legislation and directives, accounting standards, and Victoria Police policies and procedures.
• High level of customer service and assistance to other staff when required, often using own judgement and knowledge to solve service delivery problems.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills for liaising with key stakeholders
• The ability to work effectively as a member of a team
• Ability to identify processes, tasks and resources required to achieve team, branch and division objectives, and to plan and prioritise work to ensure outcomes are achieved.
• Ability to interpret and apply policy.
• Sound knowledge and understanding of Oracle Financial Systems is highly desirable.
• A proven record of ethical behaviour and a demonstrated commitment to the Victoria Police Code of Ethics and Conduct, Financial Code of Practice, and the Organisational Values

Requirements and relevant information:

• One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
• This position is located at Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
• Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
• The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
• In accordance with organisational policy, all Victoria Police employees are required to be fully vaccinated (including a booster vaccination) against COVID-19 or hold a valid medical exception. As such your employment with Victoria Police is subject to providing evidence of your vaccination status.
