THE PLATFORM
One of Canada’s largest private real estate firms
Founded in 2013, we operate across multiple distinct but interconnected asset classes: residential development, multi-family rental housing, and retirement communities. We are privately held, principal-led, and built on long-term relationships with our partners and investors.

THE ROLE
We are looking for someone who can originate, close, and scale. In the near term, you will be the primary capital raiser — building investor relationships, structuring conversations, and bringing capital to close across the full platform.
Over time, you will recruit and lead a team that extends your reach. You will have direct access to senior leadership and a seat at the table where investment decisions are made. This role has the scope to become one of the defining capital markets positions in Canadian private real estate.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Responsibilities
– Lead capital raising efforts across Baz Group’s business lines, targeting family offices, high-net-worth individuals, institutional allocators, and pension-adjacent capital
– Own the investor pipeline from origination through close — prospecting, presenting, negotiating, and executing subscription agreements
– Develop compelling investment narratives, pitch materials, and offering memoranda in close collaboration with the investment and operations teams
– Build and lead a capital markets team over time, including hiring, onboarding, and establishing accountability structures
– Maintain and deepen relationships with existing investor partners; deliver consistent, high-quality investor reporting and communications
– Represent Baz Group at conferences, investor forums, and industry events across domestically in Canada and the United States, as well as globally.
– Track and analyze capital markets conditions across target asset classes to sharpen investor positioning and timing
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The profile
– 8–15 years of experience in capital raising, private markets fundraising, or investor relations — ideally within real estate, private equity, or alternative assets
– At least $1 billion of capital raised over their career, with a proven personal track record of originating, advancing, and closing commitments from sophisticated investors
– Deep familiarity with the Canadian and/or North American institutional investor landscape; existing relationships with family offices, endowments, or allocators are a meaningful advantage
– Strong commercial fluency — you understand deal structure, return profiles, waterfall mechanics, and how to position an investment thesis precisely
– Executive presence and written communication skills commensurate with engaging C-suite, board, and investment committee stakeholders
– Experience managing or growing a team; you know how to attract talent and drive performance
– Genuine sector fluency in multi-family and/or seniors housing — or demonstrated ability to get there fast
– CFA, MBA, or equivalent credentials are valued; a track record of closed capital is non-negotiable
WHY THIS ROLE
The opportunity
– A principal-led firm where decisions move quickly and your work has direct, visible impact on the business
– Exposure to a fully integrated platform spanning development, asset management, and operations — depth that is rare in a capital markets role
– The mandate and resources to build the capital markets function in your own image
– Competitive base, performance-linked bonus, and meaningful upside tied directly to capital raised
– Toronto headquarters with active deal flow and investor presence across the globe
