Position Summary : The UI / UX Designer will work on all aspects of the user experience design-from formative research to incremental improvements based on post-launch analytics.

They will systematically study user groups to collect and analyze data that will inform product design and create user-friendly product and system designs.

Working closely with development teams and other teams inside and outside of the Technology Org, they will leverage expertise in digital design to build effective, accessible, navigable tools in support of Vibrant’s technology goals.

They come to Vibrant with years of digital design experience, expertise in user-centered design, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Duties / Responsibilities : Strategy & Planning

• Conceive and model user interface prototypes based on collected user requirements, test cases, and developmental objectives.
• Design high-level flow diagrams and wireframes for use in GUI specifications and information architectures.
• Collaborate with business analysts, Web designers, and software developers to ensure prototypes are thoroughly understood and can be efficiently implemented.
• Define and develop current GUI style standards, as well as remain knowledgeable about emerging GUI standards and trends.
• Identify, recommend, and prioritize new user interface features and applications in conjunction with end-user requirements or business needs.
• Establish policies and processes around UX design and testing in conjunction with stakeholders.
• Plan and implement usability tests throughout the development lifecycle and analyze results for resolving GUI-design issues.

Acquisition & Deployment

Conduct research into current and emerging technologies and issues in support of GUI development efforts.

Operational Management

• Code, install, and debug user interfaces using appropriate tools or editors.
• Work with business analysts, Web designers, and software developers to collect and determine user requirements.
• Present and conduct reviews of user interface designs with project managers, stakeholders, and other involved parties.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with proprietary or internally-developed user interfaces.
• Work with database administrators to design, develop, and update databases as they relate to user interface design and functionality.
• Document design, testing, and requirements-gathering processes and procedures.
• Manage and / or provide guidance to junior members of the team.

Required Skills / Abilities : Knowledge & Experience

• In-depth knowledge of UX / UI prototyping, software design lifecycle, Web design, and relevant interaction models.
• Proven experience in human-computer interaction and usability analysis.
• Thorough understanding of application development methodologies.
• Experience designing and producing production-level graphics and multimedia assets.
• Comprehensive experience designing software applications and interactive corporate Web sites.
• Experience in gathering and analyzing business requirements.
• Project management experience, including usage of tools such as Asana for the management of a UI / UX backlog.
• Good understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
• Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

Required Qualifications :

• College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science, computer / graphic design, or human-computer interaction, and / or 4 years equivalent work experience.
• Advanced proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma and development workflow tools such as Zeplin, Jira, and Asana.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
