Job Title: Lab Automation Software Engineer

Department: Lab IT

Job Summary:

As a Lab Automation Software Engineer you will be designing, integrating and implementing application software for Vibrant America. You will be working on cutting edge lab automation applications. As the Lab Automation Software Engineer , you will work with business groups, Lab Scientists and Senior Software Developers to improve old applications and implement new ones. A passion for programming will be important, as well as a strong understanding of object-oriented fundamentals.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Building new product features across the back end and front end using Java or Python
• Optimizing code for maintainability, scalability, and security
• Gather business requirements for proposed applications

• Design application and database components for small-sized development projects
• Maintain and modify existing applications; makes approved changes by amending application documentation, developing detailed programming logic and coding changes
• Assist in the discovery and investigation of critical production problems as required

Required Education and Experience/Skills:

• Recent college graduate (Computer Science graduates a plus) or 1-3 experience
• Project experience in Java or Python
• Strong MySQL database System skill
• Interest in working in third party Lab automation tools like Hamilton, Roche.
• Strong Computer Science fundamentals‘
