Event Coordinator

VGN Resources Group and Mahihkan Management (VGN-Mahihkan) are looking for someone to help us plan logistics for virtual, in-person and hybrid events. Our events are mostly government or Indigenous-focused and consist of workshops, conferences, and forums. We are not “party planners“. If this interests you, then please apply today!

Under the general supervision of, the Senior Event Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
Essential for the Position
Required Experience
Candidates will provide a cover letter and resume identifying that they have at least two years’ experience working in the capacity of an event coordinator or event planner. We will only consider applicants who are legally able to work in Canada as of the date of this job posting and will not offer sponsorship for permanent residency applications. Candidates must provide references.
Desirable Experience
It is an advantage for candidates to identify experience working on events involving issues affecting, or of relevance to Indigenous persons in Canada, including First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples. Experience in working with Zoom and Microsoft Teams would be helpful. Knowledge of graphic design platforms (e.g., Canva) and event registration software (e.g., Eventbrite, Eply) is also an asset.
Working Conditions
The Event Coordinator position will generally work from their home office and be expected to work 35 hours per week according to a flexible schedule. The candidate will work with the Senior Event Manager to establish a schedule that meets the workflow requirements of current events.
