VGC Looking for Senior Site Engineer at Newcastle upon Tyne Full Time

Senior Site Engineer

Location: Newcastle

Rate: £320 – 350 per day Via Umbrella

Duration: 9 months (with a possible extension)

Start: September 2022

My client is a top tier 1 contractors working on a major rail project in the north east. They are currently recruiting for a Senior Site Engineer to join the team in the early stages of a major project. 

Senior Site Engineer Responsibilities:

• Ensure all permits ready for site work to commence
• Ensure the Inspection and Test Plans, and Quality Check Sheets are completed as soon as the checks can be completed
• Setting out and surveying
• Managing subcontractors
• Write and Approve method statements and risk assessments and ensure they are being followed throughout the works
• Good knowledge of specifications and testing regime relevant to general civil engineering

Requirements:

• Previously worked as Senior Site Engineer or in a similar position
• Previous experience with Civil works within Rail platform extensions, station works, drainage, Ground Works or Concrete Structures
• Major infrastructure project experience (heavy civil project experience would be beneficial) 
• Ability to carry out general construction site testing
• HNC/Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering related) or equivalent.
• Confident with engineering paperwork (RAMS)
• Hold a valid CSCS card
• Civil engineering and construction experience
• Ensure compliance with designs
