OVERVIEW

Vertex is currently accepting applications to fill the role of Decommissioning Labourer(s). We are open to candidates from across the province.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role within oilfield operations, construction, decommissioning, or well servicing

Previous experience operating loader, skid steer, or loading equipment (with tickets) considered an asset

Previous experience in machinery moving material

Previous experience with pipeline pigging, air compressors, and blowdown tanks

Excellent organizational skills

Ability to work well in a team environment

Ability to take direction with assisting other employees in various tasks as requested

Ability to communicate well and perform physically demanding work

RESPONSIBILITIES

Take care of your own and others’ health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for promoting and executing Vertex Professional Services’ core values

Adhere to all company policies and procedures concerning both safety and quality

Following applicable work procedures on all worksites to ensure a successful project outcome

Provide input on procedures as part of Vertex’s Continuous Improvement Program

Take direction from the Lead Hand, Foreman, or Field Supervisor to execute duties as required

Act as a spotter and flagger for heavy equipment operators

Cut piping, unbolt flanges, remove fluids, and prepare equipment for dismantling

Install temporary pigging facilities, connect air compressors, connect fluid tanks, and conduct pigging runs

Site clean-up and material co-ordination / sorting of demolished

Load & unload dismantled wellsite equipment onto trailers and tie-down for safe transport to disposal / storage sites

Load & unload dismantled scrap materials, piping, and debris into bins for disposal

Professionally operate company vehicles and equipment adhering to all policies and legal requirements

Assist operators with various loading and unloading activities

Assist with rig in and rig out of equipment

Operate tools and equipment to remove, demolish, and remove surface production equipment and pipelines from service, ensuring all materials are hauled away, and the site is left in an appropriate state for remediation and / or reclamation

Other duties as directed by your direct supervisor or manager

LOCATION

The work will take place in Alberta. The shift rotations can vary between 10/4, 14/7, and 21/7 dependent on the project. Motel, hotel or camp accommodations will be provided. Travel to site for the beginning of shift will be the responsibility of the employee.
