We are the internal recruitment team working with our client, a successful and established, family-owned business based in the heart of Peterborough.

We are presenting a brand-new role for an experienced Accounts Team Manager to join the team and well-known business.

As the Accounts Team Manager, you will be predominantly responsible for the effective management and provision of support to an established, knowledgeable team ensuring that all daily, weekly, monthly tasks are completed to high standards and with accuracy.

The team are a mix of finance professionals, with the main functions including credit control and daily banking, including administering cash transactions from all the depots.

As a strong people leader, you will be responsible for supporting, coaching and motivating a team of 14 who work across Head office and the depots, so being able to manage a remote team is paramount,

You will also be dealing with any escalated issues from customers, assessing accounts “on stop”, and managing key customer relationships.

Reporting into a highly experienced and knowledgeable Finance Director, you will be well supported to meet your set objectives.

You will have previous experience of managing a team in a finance function, you may be a team leader looking for the next step up, or an experienced Manager looking for a new challenge,

Requirements

Who we are looking for:

Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate knowledge and experience of the following:

• Experience of managing a large team, preferably as a Purchase Ledger/Accounts Receivable- supervisor
• Proven experience of working in an accounting environment
• Understanding of accounting principles
• Experience of managing ageing of debt
• Experience of working with AX is preferable
• Supporting month end processes
• Working with auditors to complete year end audit
• Able to maintain strong relationships with clients
• Preparing statutory government returns
• Full UK driving licence as occasional travel to depots is required
