Veolia Hiring for Senior Employee Relations Specialist at Staffordshire Full Time

Salary: up to £60,000 basic salary with £80,000 OTE including Veolia benefits (car/car allowance, bonus & generous pension contribution)
Location: Home based with travel across the business unit and occasional travel to London and other sites around the UK
Hours: 40 hours per week. Monday to Friday
We support hybrid working so your week will be split between home and sites within the dedicated business unit.

What will you be doing?

As a Senior Employee Relations Specialist, you will line manage and motivate a high performing team of Employee Relations Specialists, in the delivery of a first class employee relations service to the business. Dealing with complex and super complex employee relations matters, the role will partner with a number of Senior Managers up to and including the Executive team, providing specialist and technical advice.

You will work across the Treatment and Corporate business unit to ensure first-class Employee Relations advice and support are delivered to the business. Coaching, developing and empowering the Employee Relations team in all aspects of the ER cycle to deliver Employee Relations excellence in every way.

You will also:

• Identify and develop (in conjunction with the ER Specialists) a list of ER KPIs to measure, analyse and report on to the HR Director and Executive team.
• Build credible and lasting relationships with Senior Stakeholders and support in management meetings.
• Shape and influence the ER team and Senior Leadership teams in transforming a reactive ER climate into a culture of collaboration and proactive Employee Relations.
• Have responsibility for being the escalation of all Trade Union related matters (Pay Negotiations, Trade Disputes and Industrial Relations Management).
• Support on complex disciplinary and grievance issues and litigation strategy, relating to tribunal claims in conjunction with the HR Director for the business unit.
• Support in the successful mobilisation and integration of all TUPE & M&A transactions.

What are we looking for?

• Minimum level 7 CIPD or equivalent qualification. Chartered member of CIPD or working towards this with evidence of continuous professional development.
• Previous experience of leading a team of specialised HR professionals.
• Proven ER experience including advising on complex disciplinary and grievance issues with the ability to apply the relevant legal principles and risk assessments.
• Experience of supporting large scale organisational change and restructuring programmes including TUPE, redundancy and contractual variations.
• Experience of partnering with trade unions and a good understanding of the trade union framework and collective bargaining as well as the associated legislation and external factors that may influence industrial relations.
• Significant experience in working with corporate stakeholders up to and including board level.
• Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to interact across all levels of management.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability and ability to deliver results to demanding deadlines.
• Candidates should possess extensive experience as a Senior ER Specialist or similar role with a strong ER emphasis gained within a multi-site organisation.
