Our company of Smith and Chandler has been in business in West Yellowstone since the early 1900s. We have long been considered the premier shop in the area for upscale gifts, apparel, and outdoor lifestyle products. The Firehole Trading Company is our newest and well-established addition with the young urban appeal.

West Yellowstone is the renowned gateway location adjacent to the West Entrance of Yellowstone National Park. Our community retains the character of a small Montana western town while providing the amenities one would want in a larger town with numerous lodging choices, multiple restaurants, and grocery stores.

Local attractions include The Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center, IMAX theater, museum, public library, post office, medical clinic, and a veterinary clinic, all within walking distance from our front door. West Yellowstone is located 90 miles south of Bozeman, Montana, and 110 miles southwest of Idaho Falls, ID. Also, Big Sky is a short 50 miles away, which boasts of a new state-of-the-art hospital and medical clinic.

We are looking for exceptional staff members for the 2022 season. Employees work 32 to 40 hours per week with two consecutive days off. Couples will have the same scheduled days off. Start and end dates are somewhat flexible, with the full season starting as early as early May and running through October 2022.
