We are currently looking for an Accountant to join the finance team within the centre. This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated individual who is keen to grow their career in a supportive, and diverse environment.

The Job:

The accountant manages the accounting and financial activities of Parklea Correctional Centre (PCC). They analyse the financial performance of the Centre and provide financial information to key stakeholders, supporting budgeting and investment decisions. The financial accountant reports on costs, productivity, margins and company expenditure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing the monthly profit and loss, and balance sheet reports
• Completion and submission company taxation requirements
• Collecting and analysing data, used in the preparation of weekly and monthly reporting
• Preparation of cash flow statements, and controlling expenditure and cash flow
• Responding to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data
• Examining financial records to check for accuracy
• Provide support and oversight to payroll processing
• Manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable function
• Complete billing process for the Centre

Key Experience:

• SAP knowledge and experience in payroll software systems essential
• Proficiency across Microsoft Office suite
• Business Degree in Accounting
• CPA / CA Qualified
• An analytical mind
• A keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data

Mandatory requirements:

• ability to gain and retain all the police/security clearances required within our industry
• ability to pass any required health assessments
• ability to visit and work within a correctional or detention centre
• proven right to work in Australia
• proven double vaccination against Covid-19 by a vaccine recognised in Australia from time to time
• be prepared to undergo alcohol and other drug testing as required.
