Job Description:

The Infrastructure Engineering Expert will use their in-depth knowledge of specific Microsoft ICT platforms to provide expert advice on the creation and operational maintenance of systems, services, and Standard Operating Environments. The Technical Engineering Expert works under the broad direction of senior staff to deliver quality outcomes. They exercise a considerable degree of independence, with decision-making substantially dependent on their high-level judgement and consideration of wider departmental implications. In performing a technical leadership role, they drive innovation, changes in workplace practices, and organises work in the context of competing priorities and strategic direction.

Primary Technologies: Microsoft Windows Server 2022, Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager, Microsoft Active Directory + Group Policy Objects.

The Infrastructure Engineering Experts Key Tasks/Duties may include some or all of the following:

• Maintain and support the department’s and partner agencies Microsoft environment end to end.

• Provide technical leadership and share expertise as the Subject Matter Expert.

• Design and develop solutions to support the department’s Microsoft environment.

• Oversee the regular maintenance of patches and support packages for all technical layers.

Mandatory Criteria :

1. Sound technical knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, System Centre. Configuration Manager and Active Directory and their implementation within the department.

2. 3+ years experience working with Microsoft platforms in government environments

Weighted Criteria :

1. Sound technical knowledge and experience with Microsoft Windows Server.

2. Sound technical knowledge and experience with System Centre Configuration Manager.

3. Sound technical knowledge and experience with Active Directory.

4. Knowledge and experience with Microsoft systems troubleshooting.
