Cloud Experts (Multiple) | Canberra | Hybrid / Offsite / Remote | Citizens | Contract

Job Description:

The department requires the services of highly experienced AWS and Azure Cloud Experts to assist with building in house capability and to build and support cloud environments.

The Specified Personnel will be responsible for providing the following deliverables including but not limited to:

⦁ Working with relevant technical teams to plan, design, and implement cloud and business solutions;

⦁ Developing and implementing proof-of-concept designs for executive;

⦁ Analysing relevant business and software requirements for delivery in a cloud environment;

⦁ Providing exceptional technical solutions that are within the Department’s Azure and AWS enterprise pattern

⦁ Ensuring technical optimisation of the Department’s cloud environments;

⦁ Networking the LAN, WAN and VPN networks;

⦁ Liaising with ICT operational teams to coordinate implementation activities;

⦁ Delivering results that adhere to relevant Commonwealth standards and policies;

⦁ Producing high standard of results, which are in budget and within tight timeframes;

⦁ Taking ownership of designs and transition plans while engaging with ICT operational teams to coordinate implementation activities, assisting in the resolution of technical issues as they arises;

⦁ Providing technical expertise to projects and business areas, and leading the technical deliverables;

⦁ Maintaining a high level of professionalism.

The Specified Personnel will also be responsible for producing the following deliverables, including but not limited to:

⦁ Documenting design and patterns for continued use

⦁ Technical specifications using the Department’s templates

⦁ Service design documentation.

Essential criteria:

⦁ 5+ years’ experience in three or more of the following, including Solution Design: (a) Amazon Web Services (AWS) ­ – AWS Lambda ­ – Amazon EC2 ­ – Amazon S3 ­ – Amazon RDS ­ – Amazon VPC ­ – Amazon Dynamo DB ­ – Amazon Route 53 ­ – AWS IAM Identity Center; (b) AWS Control Tower ­ – CI/CD Pipeline ­ – Azure DevOps ­ – Jenkins; (c) Cloud Automation ­ – Cloud Formation ­ – Scale Services based on load ­ – PowerShell ­ – AWS CLI ­ – AWS CDK (Cloud Development Kit); (d) Solution Design ­ – Integration with on-premises infrastructure ­ – Availability Zones ­ – Site Redundancy ­ – Region Redundancy ­ – Could Native Applications ­ – Serverless; (e) Cloud Networking ­ – VPC ­ – AWS VPN ­ – Web Application Firewall ­ – AWS firewall ­ – Hub and Spoke topology ­ – Transit Gateway ­ – Direct Connect; (f) Cloud Governance ­ – ISM (Information Security Manual) ­ – CIS (Center for Internet Security) ­ – PSPF (Protective Security Policy Framework) ­ – Cloud Access Security Broker (CASB).

⦁ Proven ability to work within a structured IT governance framework and deliver results that adhere to relevant Commonwealth standards and policies;

⦁ High level of management skills including the ability to lead and plan to produce high standard of results, on budget and within tight timeframes;

⦁ Well-developed stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, both written and verbal with ability to negotiate outcomes as required;

⦁ Sound judgement and decision-making skills;

⦁ Ability to work autonomously and is highly motivated.
