Business Analyst (Data and Analytics ) | Canberra | Hybrid / Offsite / Remote | Citizens

Job Description:

Department is currently seeking an experienced business analysist to revisit, revalidate and refresh our existing business requirements for the Data Transformation project.

As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for engaging internal business areas and key external stakeholders seeking their feedback and clarification regarding the relevance, importance and priority of existing business requirements, and for reviewing the current recommended technology solutions to support department data and ing requirements for the next 5 years.

The BA will have a strong emphasis and focus on department and how it relates to and functions with the existing data layer that includes ETLs, databases, data warehouse and data ing functions.

Deliverables:

1. Review and revalidate existing Data Transformation documentation such as high level and detailed requirements, business process maps, business drivers, user stories and specifications etc;

2. Define detailed business requirements ensuring they are relevant and traceable

3. Define problem statement for current applications and systems under review

4. Identify realistic and pragmatic technology opportunities to modernise, improve, and deliver business services

5. Identify options and make cost effective recommendations aligned to MoSCoW prioritisation

6. Lead consultation with internal stakeholders and business areas

7. Identify future program solution analysis, including:

o Options against benefits (including on prem vs cloud)

o Estimated costings (initial vs ongoing)

o Timeline for delivery

o Identification of blockers (e.g., staff capacity, technical complexity, infrastructure)

Essential criteria:

1. Has demonstrated experience working as a business analyst on data integration and ing projects and can understand business drivers and expected outcomes

2 Extensive experience eliciting and defining requirements for complex IT systems including a sound understanding of system interoperability, database structures and data flows between systems

3. Can communicate effectively and translate between business and technical terminology, including the ability to negotiate outcomes and manage complex stakeholder relationships. Can deliver s

4. Is capable of assessing numerous inputs and business requirements from key stakeholders and executives, assess and analyze, and then make sound decisions and recommend an appropriate course of action or solution.

Desirable criteria:

1. Experience capability in both Oracle and Azure technology stacks with respect to the data lifecycle
