VEJA Hiring for Retail Sales Associate – Full time at New York, NY Full Time

This individual will be comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment, while upholding exceptional customer service standards. This candidate will need to be well-versed in product knowledge and confident speaking about the VEJA project.

Role And Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service in a hands-on, education-focused setting.
• Be knowledgeable on the VEJA Project and brand and be able to share this information with customers.
• Build expertise through fashion knowledge and provide confident feedback to customers about style and fit.
• Follow through on all customer commitments to the best of ability, and partner with managers to resolve issues when assistance is needed.
• Provide accurate and efficient check-out with customers, including accurate cash handling, size matching between left and right shoes, and matching box/UPC to shoes inside.
• Work with management and peers to keep store customer-ready including but not limited to maintaining visual presentation standards, assisting with inventory and stock room management processes as needed, and organization of the sales floor.

Requirements

• Commitment to the VEJA Project; passionate about fair-trade brands.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer-facing, service-focused role required.
• Strong team player, approaching all situations with integrity and respect for others.
• Excellent communication skills, professional maturity, and emotional intelligence.
• Self-starter, able to work autonomously and proactively resolve problems with management.
• Able to stand for 7-8 hours a day, including regular use of ladders throughout a shift.
• Able to work a flexible schedule that includes morning, evening, weekend and holiday availabilty.
• Able to work 5 variable days/shifts and between 32-40 hours in a typical week.
• Able to lift/move 20-25 pounds with assistance.
• Foreign language fluency a plus.
• Compensation for this role is $22/hour, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
