Trainee Compliance Engineer
Looking for your next challenge?
The Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA) is the UK Type Approval Authority and ensures that road vehicles meet the minimum safety and environmental standards as required by GB, UK, and UNECE regulations. The integrity, objectivity, impartiality, and professionalism of our staff is vital to delivering this service for the automotive sector.
Do you take a methodical and logical approach to tackling problems and seek to understand the root causes?
Do you have an interest in cars and automotive technologies?
If so, we are now seeking a Trainee Compliance Engineer to join our Technical and Statutory Operations team. If you are someone with a passion for Engineering, who enjoys travelling, with a willingness to learn this would be a great opportunity for you.
This is a permanent opportunity and office locations will include either Bristol or Nuneaton. There will be a business requirement to be based in your designated office for a set number of days per week. This will be discussed further with your line manager on appointment. Due to the nature of the role there will be a significant element of travel involved in this role. This could include visits to other offices (other than your designated) or travel to meet with key stakeholders/manufacturers. These roles will have the privilege of working directly with global OEMs, getting to see their production sites first-hand. The global nature of the automotive sector will mean there is a significant opportunity for travel internationally with these roles.
About You
You will possess excellent interpersonal skills and possess the ability to work well in a team as well as independently. You will be organised and be able to manage your time effectively. You will also have a flexible working approach.

In addition, you will have access to a broad network of eLearning through the Civil Service Learning platform and opportunities to attend external training courses to develop knowledge can be sought if you can demonstrate the value created to the agency in doing so.
