POSITION SUMMARY

JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT

Downer provide maintenance, turnaround, shutdown and sustaining capital programs for power generation and industrial operations across Australia and operate across industries including petrochemical and refining, bulk materials handling and processing, coal, iron ore and minerals and metals.

A fantastic opportunity is available for an experienced Junior Accountant to join our operations within our Facilities Asset Services Business team based in the Perth CBD. This is a 6 month casual full-time role with a possibility of being extended.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Creation of new jobs and budgets into JDEGS;
• Ensure that all payroll data and project costs are allocated to the correct cost codes as per budgets;
• Submission of minor claims to client and associated invoicing as well as submission of invoices into Ariba;
• Assist Accountant with Month End processing and ad hoc duties as required;
• Investigation into payroll costs – ensuring they are allocated correctly;
• Running reports from Hubble and interpreting data;
• Updating weekly data inputs; and
• Maintenance of registers/templates and updating these as required.

ABOUT YOU

• Bachelor Degree in Commerce (Accounting and Finance) desired but not essential;
• Project experience desired;
• Critical thinking essential;
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines in a fast paced environment;
• Strong reporting skills with a high proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel);
• Previous experience with JDEGS (JD Edwards) advantageous;
• Strong interpersonal and engagement skills with a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality; and
• A positive, proactive, solutions focused approach.
