Van’s Kitchen Hiring for Logistics Coordinator at Dallas, TX Full Time

Overview: This is a very dynamic role that will have direct impact on the organization’s continued growth. This role thrives in a fast-paced environment and seek out opportunities for continuous improvement. Scheduling will follow the needs of the company with primary hours during the week and Saturday and ability to be available weekends for meetings, and calls as necessary.

Purpose: To oversee and manage the company’s supply of products and services. Procurement responsibilities include strategizing to find cost-effective deals and suppliers. Duty: is to discover the best ways to cut procurement and logistics expenses, so that the company can invest in growth and people.

Essential Job Duties:

· Developing sound, cost-effective strategies for the purchasing packaging materials used in the business

· Negotiate with external vendors to secure advantageous terms

· Maintaining relationships with suppliers while continually scouting for additional vendors

· Evaluating spending operations while seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased and the timeliness of deliveries

· Finalize purchase details of orders and deliveries

· Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services

· Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities

· Conducting cost analyses and setting benchmarks for improvement

· Communicating with management regularly regarding the efficient flow of goods and services affecting production

· Conduct physical inventories quarterly, annually, or as needed

· Effectively communicate with support staff, colleagues, and supervisor(s)

· Working closely with the company Finance and Accounting departments and Plant Manager to make sure contracts and terms are favorable

Competencies & Skill Requirements:

· Background & Experience in Logistics and Purchasing

· Knowledge of suppliers and third-party relations

· Mastering the sourcing techniques according to the market

· Knowledge of the supply chain

· Strong understanding and analysis of data, trends and metrics

· Diligent and firm with high ethical standards

· Ability to provide effective leadership and supervise department staff as necessary

· Experience with MS Office Suite,

· Excellent MS Excel skills

Qualifications & Experience:

· Five (5) years of logistics and procurement experience related to food services/CPG operations is required

· Category Management Experience in Commodities preferred

· Willing to work in a team environment and contribute to group goals

· Encouragement to be innovative and challenge status quo

· Manufacturing conductor (MC) experience a plus

Physical Demands:

Must be able to read, write, and communicate both verbally and in written form to express and exchange ideas. While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee must be able to access all components of workstation and other office equipment. Frequent typing, writing, bending and twisting. Bending, stooping and lifting up to 50 lbs. required to complete daily tasks.
