Vanguard Hiring for Retirement Education Specialist Job at Malvern, PA Full Time

To deliver in-person and virtual retirement and investment education meetings to retirement plan participants.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Presents group and one-on-one investment and retirement meetings that are designed to influence and motivate retirement plan participants to take action.
• Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of content and materials and is prepared to accurately answer participant questions.
• Delivers meetings in both live (in-person) and webinar settings. Proficiently utilizes webinar technology during virtual meeting set-up and execution. Effectively conducts demonstrations of Vanguard website, app, and tools. Assists with participant navigation of Vanguard online processes, tools, and calculators.
• Appropriately positions Vanguard services in participant interactions using an enhanced guidance approach and Vanguard investment methodologies. Exhibits broad knowledge of Vanguard’s Retail solutions when addressing participant asset consolidation needs.
• Establishes a consultative relationship with on-site plan contact or plan sponsor throughout meeting planning process. Gains understanding of contact’s goals and objectives to appropriately recommend and generate presentation content through Vanguard Communication Engine. Effectively coordinates on-site logistics. Executes on timely follow-up communications, including documenting robust meeting notes.
• Pro-actively observes and reports Voice of Participant. Leverages this feedback to make recommendations for future meeting content or to identify broader service and educational opportunities.
• Establishes and maintains close working relationships with critical internal and external partners to ensure flawless development and delivery of presentation content.
• Builds and optimizes effective communication and presentation skills through formal (Vanguard University) and informal training. Continuously optimizes and refines delivery skills and style through observation of peer presentations. Actively seeks and implements solicited/provided feedback. Proactively certifies for meetings in a timely manner. Coaches and mentors new presenters.
• Coordinates own travel arrangements in a fiscally responsible, flexible manner and within a reasonable time frame
• Identifies opportunities to improve processes with the internal and external client service teams to ensure quality, productivity, and fiscal objectives are met.
• Consistently seeks to stay abreast of divisional and corporate initiatives.
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree or an equivalent combination of education and training.
• Minimum two years progressive business experience in financial services field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate financial issues to a varied audience.
• Prior experience in the IIG division preferred or solid understanding of the retirement business.
• FINRA Series 6 and 63 licenses or ability to obtain within 60 days.
• CFP is desirable, but not required. (Department will sponsor those interested in obtaining CFP while in role).
• Excellent knowledge of Vanguard funds, products and services.
• Demonstrates awareness of current industry regulations.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Demonstrated public speaking skills.
• Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Connect, Siebel, Concur, Plan Sponsor Bridge preferred.

If you are offered and accept this position, and you do not have the necessary FINRA licenses for the role, then you must obtain the required licenses within the specified period of time. Additionally, if you are not currently registered with FINRA in any capacity, prior to moving into this licensed role, you will be asked to provide authorization for Vanguard to conduct a credit and criminal check in accordance with the FINRA regulations. Please note, the credit and criminal check requirement does not apply to crew who are currently registered with FINRA.

Special Factors

• This position requires extensive travel throughout the United States (80% of total time).
• Valid driver’s license and passport are required.
• Flexibility to conduct meetings on weekends is required.
• Vanguard is not offering visa sponsorship for this position.
