The Facilitation team is an integral part of the terminal operations at YVR, initiating and delivering improvements to key processes such as customs, check-in and security. The facilitation team is the key relationship holder with several government agencies operating at YVR.

Position overview

We have a permanent, full-time opportunity for an Operations Specialist, Facilitation in the Facilitation Department, ing to the Manager, Facilitation and Program Design. The successful candidate will ensure existing, and newly implemented, passenger and regulatory processes are performing as designed. With a longer-term outlook, they will focus on strategic business initiatives which enable a seamless passenger journey through process improvement, facility enhancements, and deployment of innovative technology.

Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the design, implementation, and improvement of the Facilitation program portfolio including check-in optimization, connection programs, pre-board screening, and customs processes.

Recommending process improvement opportunities and strategy based on detailed performance analysis and understanding of industry best practices and available/emerging technology.

Contributing to all elements of project/program delivery in the facilitation area, from initiation, to execution, completion, and implementation.

Maintaining productive working relationship with government agency partners including USCBP, CBSA, TC, PHAC and CATSA fostering a culture of collaboration in addition to serving their unique requirements.

Establishing strong rapport and working relationships with various internal departments to resolve any systemic operational challenges.

Working with several data models to track performance, create dashboards and presentations for stakeholders.

Key qualifications include:
5 years of recent, related experience in an evolving, regulated environment or a major international airport, supplemented by a post-secondary degree in Business, Aviation Management, Airport Operations, Process Engineering, Logistics, Project Management, Technology or other related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience

Advanced skills in data analytics; experience with QLIK platform is an asset

Demonstrated experience in planning, operational research and/or application of statistical techniques and simulation modelling in an operational environment

Proven ability to quickly interpret and present complex data from interdependent sources

Excellent communication, networking, interpersonal, negotiation, facilitation and presentation skills, including experience presenting to large audiences
